Magdalena Island Nature Reserve is located 45 kilometers from the city of Punta Arenas. It is inhabited by approximately 150,000 pairs of Magellanic penguins being one of the largest penguin colonies in southern Chile. To access the island we navigate the waters of the Strait of Magellan as they did centuries ago which Don Pedro Sarmiento de Gamboa and Ferdinand Magellan. While browsing will be possible to appreciate a beautiful postcard of the city of Punta Arenas tonina addition, birds such as gulls, cormorants and southern dolphin or porpoise.
